Estimating & insurance negotiation

You send us the job. We write the estimate. You get paid for the work you actually did.

Mitigation & reconstruction estimates

3%
of written revenue

Charged on what the estimate is written for.

We write the full estimate — mitigation, reconstruction, or both. Complete scope, correct line items, proper quantities, documented and defensible. It comes back to you as a Xactimate file, you approve it, and you take it to the carrier yourself.

  • Full mitigation and reconstruction scoping
  • Written in Xactimate on our license
  • Line items documented and photo-supported
  • Typical 48-hour turnaround
  • Carrier negotiation is not included — that is the 6% option

Estimate writing + insurance negotiation

6%
of approved revenue

Charged on what the carrier actually approves.

We write the estimate and then carry the file through the fight. When the carrier cuts your scope, we take it back with written rebuttals, code citations and IICRC standards until the approval reflects the work that actually has to happen.

  • Includes the full estimate — this replaces the 3%, it is not added to it
  • Written rebuttals with citations, not opinions
  • Direct negotiation on contested line items
  • Escalation strategy when the desk adjuster won't move
  • Billed on approved revenue, so nothing approved means nothing billed

Both of these are default rates. We’re open to negotiating them and to other arrangements — more on that below. Work out what it would cost on your volume →

What the percentages are charged on

Two options, two different bases. Worth being clear about before you send us anything.

3%

Written revenue

The total the estimate is written for. Writing alone is billed at 3% of that figure, whether we wrote the mitigation side, the reconstruction side, or both.

6%

Approved revenue

What the carrier actually approves and pays on. Writing plus negotiation is billed at 6% of that figure. If nothing gets approved, there is nothing to bill you for.

Pick one, not both. You pick one, not both. The 6% option already includes writing the estimate, so it replaces the 3% rather than stacking on top of it — there is no job where you are billed 9%.

These are our default rates, not a take-it-or-leave-it.

3% and 6% are where we start, and they are what most jobs run at. If your volume, your job mix, or the way you want to work does not fit that shape, say so on the first call — we are open to negotiating the percentages and to building a different arrangement around what you actually send us.

Tell us what would make it work on your side. The worst outcome is a number on a page talking you out of a call we could have sorted in ten minutes.

  • A flat fee per estimate instead of a percentage, if that suits your accounting better
  • A blended rate across mitigation and reconstruction
  • Terms that reflect a steady volume of work rather than one-off jobs
  • A different split if you want us on some parts of the process and not others

Run your own numbers

What would this cost on your volume?

Put your own figures in. Nothing is sent anywhere and nobody gets your email — this runs in your browser.

Defaults to your written total. Change it to whatever you actually expect the carrier to approve. Reset to written

Written work per month $180,000
We write them — 3% of written revenue $5,400

That is $270 on a $9,000 estimate.

We write and negotiate them — 6% of approved revenue $10,800

Our typical estimate is written within 48 hours of receiving it from you, and we average a 14-day approval time — from the estimate being submitted to insurance to insurance approving it.

These are the two options, not a running total — you pick one. Both are charged per job as the work happens, never as a monthly fee, and nothing written means nothing billed. Treat the figures as arithmetic on what you typed, not a quote.

Have us look at one claim

The software

We write in Xactimate, and we pay for it.

Xactimate is our preferred estimating platform and the one most carriers are set up to receive, so that is what your estimates are written in.

The license is ours. You do not need a seat, a subscription, or anyone on staff trained to drive it. You send us the job the way your crews already document it — photos, moisture logs, notes, whatever you have — and a complete Xactimate estimate comes back to you.

The license is on us

Xactimate is not cheap to keep a seat on. It is part of what the percentage covers, so it never shows up as a line on your invoice.

No software for your team to learn

Nobody on your side has to open Xactimate, keep up with price list updates, or sit through training to use it.

The file is yours

You get the estimate in the format the carrier expects, under your company's name. Nothing is submitted anywhere without your sign-off.

Who writes your estimates

Restoration estimators. Mitigation and reconstruction.

We are restoration estimators specializing in both mitigation and reconstruction, with a strong focus on producing detailed, accurate, and defensible estimates that reflect the true scope of work.

Our team understands restoration from the contractor's side of the process. We know that a strong estimate is more than a list of line items — it needs to account for the full sequence of work, applicable trades, proper quantities, necessary companion items, documentation, and the real-world requirements of completing the project correctly.

MITIGATION

Mitigation

We build comprehensive estimates that accurately represent the work performed and the resources required to complete it.

RECONSTRUCTION

Reconstruction

We develop detailed scopes across the applicable trades, helping ensure that everything required to return the property to its pre-loss condition is properly accounted for.

AI-assisted, estimator-decided

We also use modern AI-assisted estimating and quality-control systems to strengthen our process. These tools help us review documentation, identify potentially missed scope, compare estimates, organize supporting information, and create a more consistent estimating workflow — while the final decisions remain in the hands of experienced estimators.

The goal. Our goal is simple: produce estimates that are thorough, organized, accurate, and built around the actual work required to complete the restoration properly.

How it runs

Four steps. No software for you to learn.

STEP 01

You send the job

Photos, moisture logs, notes, scope sheet. However your team already documents it. No new system, no portal.

STEP 02

We write it

Full estimate, correct line items, documented. Typically back to you inside 48 hours.

STEP 03

You approve

You review and sign off. Nothing goes to a carrier without you saying so. It's your name on the file.

STEP 04

We defend it

If negotiation is in scope and the carrier cuts, we write the rebuttal and take it back.

How payment works

Simple and old-fashioned, for now. Estimate writing is invoiced at 3% of written revenue once the estimate is delivered. Writing plus negotiation is invoiced at 6% of approved revenue, after the carrier approves. AI builds are invoiced 50% at kickoff and 50% at handoff.

Percentage-based means aligned. We get paid on what actually gets written. If we don't find it, scope it, or defend it, there's nothing to bill you for. That's deliberate.
No lock-in. No contract minimums, no monthly retainer, no exclusivity. Send us one job or send us every job.

Send us one estimate you've already sent.

We'll tell you what's missing from it. That's the whole first call.
